The CRC (Certificado de Registro Cadastral, or Registration Certificate) is the document confirming that your company has been assessed and registered as a Petrobras supplier. It works as advance qualification: instead of proving everything from scratch for every tender, you already have criteria assessed and recorded.
What registration brings forward — and what it is not
Start with the concrete benefit and the exact qualification Petrobras uses: before taking part in a procurement process, a registered supplier MAY establish in advance that it meets legal, financial and integrity qualification requirements and, as a result, be exempt from submitting those documents during the process — reducing the risk of disqualification. It is ‘may’, not ‘guarantees’: registration provides an assessment in advance, not automatic approval. This is supplier registration working as a qualification tool (RLCP, Article 22). Now the part almost no consultancy puts on its own website: the same company says a CRC is not required to take part in its tenders. Both statements are true at the same time, and the difference lies in the deadline: without registration, you prove everything within the tender deadline, alongside your bid — one expired certificate can undo all the work. With registration, this assessment has already taken place, with time to prepare, and the competition becomes about price and technical merit.
So why obtain a CRC?
- Advance qualification: your documents and capabilities have already been assessed before the tender notice.
- Less rushing: you do not assemble the entire paperwork package within each tender’s tight deadline.
- Visibility: your company appears in Petrobras’ supplier register.
- Credibility: the technical and HSE assessment signals the maturity of your operation.
The CRC does not replace the tender notice
The regulation is explicit: presenting the Registration Certificate does not exempt the company from providing additional documents, updating information or submitting other evidence required by the tender notice (RLCP, Article 26). Two registration types — and you do not choose which one
There is Corporate Registration (for supplies of greater complexity, scale or value) and Simplified Registration (lower complexity, local interest). One detail almost nobody explains: the supply family you select determines the registration type, not your preference.

You will see both Portuguese names. The Supplier Channel uses ‘Certificado de Registro Cadastral (CRC)’, while the internal regulation (RLCP) calls it ‘Certificado de Cadastramento’. The older acronym ‘CRCC’ has been discontinued. They refer to the same document.
